Living Pace with Michéal Shanahan

What was your biggest learning in 2025?

I took a big step in understanding what I want and how I want to live.

I left my job as a junior designer because it felt like I was building someone else’s vision - one that wasn’t even clear. It was all based on an idea of a “customer” that no one really understood.

Now I’m working on my own project in the running world and designing for friends instead. Helping from the ground up so now I feel connected to what I’m doing.

I’m not just a blow in anymore - I’m part of something that’s growing, something real.

What is your goal for 2026?

My goal for 2026 is simple: Upgrade.

Not chase new things, but improve what I already have.

Run faster. Lift heavier. Go further.

The same applies to my personal life - be more present with my friends, my family, and my fiancée. Build stronger relationships. Learn things together that give new perspectives. Invest in skills that last.

But the concrete numbers I’m hunting are 2:49 marathon & 100 miler.

What does training or running bring to your life, and how does it influence you as an individual?

Training brings structure and peace to my life.

Even though I’m not naturally organised, I still plan everything around it. It creates pressure in a good way - I have to get my work done so I can train.

It also gives my work depth. You can’t design “lifestyle” clothing if you don’t actually live. You need to experience real life outside of work to understand what people actually need and feel.

What does "success" look like to you beyond times, distances, or results?

Success is pretty black and white for me. I want it all - and I’m willing to work for it.

Running and work feed into each other. Together, they’ve built a life where I feel at home anywhere - as long as I have miles to run and ideas to chase.

A Porsche and a sub-2:49 wouldn’t hurt either.

Also to launch my brand this AW26.
